Skills Journal #10

This is my last entry for this quarter so I am going to use it as a time to look back at the beginning of the quarter and see how I have improved. I believe that in both Time management and in teamwork I have improved greatly but at the same time I realize that there is still a ton more I could do to try and make myself even more better in these areas.

For Time Management I have improved a lot. I have started to set time aside each day to get work done. This is something that helps a lot when it comes to being ready for tests and also just to be better prepared during class. I also started to write things done more. This has allowed me to get things done on time almost every time. Overall I feel that I have improved greatly in this area but I still believe that I could be even better at this. I still find myself slacking a lot when I have free time. I tend to waste a lot of time still that I know could be used to do something more productive.

For teamwork I also have realized some things. For example I found that I now am way more willing to be in a group. I found that it is still a great way to learn things from different angles and it also allows more variety in the final work. I still think that I could improve a lot however in trying to create a truly productive team environment. I think that if I was able to be more of a leading type person that overall I could help future groups I am in to be more productive.

Skills Journal #9

This last week was one that I found to be both good and bad. I found myself improving in some areas but at the same time I was doing pretty bad in others.

Teamwork was the one area where everything started to fail. My group was doing everything really good until it came to the last three days before it was due. Me and one of the other group members got all of our stuff done but everyone else did absolutely nothing. This lead to me pretty much doing all of the work and when it came down to it almost all of this group essay was written by me. I found that this was one thing showing that their is still a good amount of things I need to do in order to be a even better team player. In part I don't think that it was really my fault but maybe if I tried harder to lead my group everything might have gone along smoother.

This was a good example of how even when times are bad I was able to improve my Time management skills. I was able to get everything done and still be able to have enough time to finish up what my group mates did not. This also taught me a good lesson. It taught me that I should try to care more about myself over others. I used to try and help people as much as I could but I find that the only way that others will do good is if they try for themselves.
